How the Once-Mighty Knicks Have Fallen

Allan Houston would be in the front office along with Larry Johnson.

You would not have lost.

Thanks for the great run, filled with magical moments and great basketball. When you guys were here the Knicks were kings. The building was clean and the employees took pride in the place. You wouldn't believe what is going on now.

Mostly, I'm sorry that it's over.

Christian music galore

Christian music's largest annual tour makes a stop in Wichita on Saturday, offering entertainment the whole family can take in.

Winter Jam Tour 2008 is hosted by the band NewSong and features a lineup of five other bands as well as nonmusic entertainment.

Here's a quick look at the participating artists:

NewSong

Touring legend and Christian hitmaker NewSong launched the Winter Jam Tour Spectacular in 1994 to give fans a chance to hear multiple artists with a gospel message.

The group has made 17 CDs and had 20 No. 1 radio singles. "The Christmas Shoes" became a No. 1 mainstream radio hit and inspired a best-selling book as well as a TV movie.

The album by the same name was nominated for a Grammy Award for best pop/contemporary gospel album in 2003.

Keeping the Legacy Alive

All these statues share our public spaces; in death, as in life, they are with us, yet they rise above us (which is why statues are often elevated) to remind and to inspire us.

–Ben Miller: No 2: Jan. 11 and No 3: Jan. 18 Bah Humbug! How Chesapeake Country’s four Scrooges learn their lessons — and teach us ours

As carolers harmonize with glad tidings and families merrily trim the tree, four Chesapeake men master their meanest bah humbug. It’s in the spirit of the season, to share the message of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, that each has transformed himself into the stingy, cold-hearted Ebenezer Scrooge.

Georgia Police Question Witnesses in Killing of Two Officers

He said investigators know there are witnesses to the killings and "we want them to come forward."

The chief held up photographs of Bryant, a two-year veteran of the department, and Barker, who worked there for four years. Both are married with four children, he said.

"Bottom line: We lost two police officers for nothing," the chief said at the Wednesday afternoon press conference. "They clearly didn't have the advantage, or we wouldn't be here. Obviously something terrible happened."

Earlier Wednesday, Bolton had a message for the gunmen: "If I were you, I'd turn myself in. The sun's coming up. Before sundown, we're gonna find you."

But as the day wore on, Williams said she didn't know when the murder suspects would be caught.

"I can't judge when we're going to make an arrest," she told FOXNews.com.

SEASON RECAP: Depleted Crimson No Match for Ivy’s Best

The Harvard women's tennis team's spring season began with only a single returning player, but ended with a satisfying win over Dartmouth and a tantalizing promise of a bright future for the program.

While this year's team did not enjoy the success of last year's Ivy League championship squad, the Crimson overcame a depleted roster and a plethora of injuries to end the season on a high note.

“We had a fantastic season and I feel like the team did a great job," said senior captain Preethi Mukundan, the only carryover from last year's team. “Obviously, we had a lot of challenges, but everything came together amazingly well. We have a lot of ability to do some great things next year."

This winter, the team found itself so short-handed it needed to find extra players merely to field a complete squad.

Growing Up to Prozac: Drug makes new neurons mature faster

Peter Pan won't be pleased to hear the latest theory about how Prozac works. A new study shows that the antidepressant stimulates growth of neurons in the hippocampus and speeds the young brain cells toward maturity. The maturation process could be the mechanism by which the drug relieves depression.

Fluoxetine, the drug commonly known as Prozac, has been used to treat depression since the 1980s. Prozac and other SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) block the ability of the neurons to take up serotonin, thereby raising levels of the active neurotransmitter in the brain. When people with depression begin taking such drugs, serotonin levels in the brain increase rapidly, but it often takes 2 to 4 weeks before they begin to feel better.

The new study, published Feb. 6 in the Journal of Neuroscience, suggests that the lag is due to the time it takes for serotonin to stimulate new neurons to grow, mature, and integrate into brain circuits.

Gemma Atkinson in balcony romp

Then another level, and then another...

And when you reach the right floor after pushing all her buttons in the hotel lift, it just gets better and better.

Gemma's former lover Karl Benion today reveals how jungle-hot Gemma gave him the elevator ride of his life followed by SPANKING romps on a balcony during a steamy two-month fling.

They'd only just met on holiday in Majorca when the ex-Hollyoaks star pounced.

Karl, 28, grins: "We'd been out clubbing and were in the lift on our way back to my apartment when she suddenly went wild and started ripping my clothes off.

Swearing

"She was wearing very little herself. I ended up with one hand jammed against the stop' button between floors...and the other was, well, quite full!

Letters, 11/29: The dangers of MySpace

This article is just one of the many horror stories I have heard about the site. Not only are there people — adults and children — making "false pages," there are predators, and without truly knowing the person you don’t know who it might be. .

Clinton seeks to beat slump, but new defeats likely loom

Hillary Clinton scrambled to bust out of a slump but her White House rival Barack Obama was tipped to sweep Tuesday's trio of Washington-area nominating contests to swell his growing momentum.

With her campaign reeling from her decision to replace her campaign manager, the one-time Democratic front-runner slipped behind Obama in the race for convention delegates who will formally crown the party's presidential nominee.

A new nationwide opinion poll for USA Today newspaper meanwhile had Obama up 47 to 44 percent, the first time in a year he had led the former first lady.

Obama's mounting head of steam came as he basked in the glow of weekend victories in Washington state, Nebraska, Louisiana and the US Virgin Islands, and a wider-than-expected win in Maine.

Price jump helps mines

But the Main Street gold rush doesn't necessarily signal a return to boom times for Montana's mining industry, officials said.Robin McCulloch, a staff field agent of the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology and a professor at Montana Tech, said higher metals prices will help expand the life of Montana's existing gold mines. But he doesn't anticipate any significant increase in new exploration or development.Consolidation in the mining industry, a shortage of engineers and geologists, and an uncertain regulatory climate all stack the cards against new mine development, he said."The idea of flipping a switch and the boom days returning - it ain't going to happen," McCulloch said.McCulloch said a lack of exploration is another issue confronting Montana's mining industry.Beaudry said SMC continues to explore for new reserves within the Stillwater Complex and has diversified by acquiring an interest in Pacific NorthWest Capital Corp.
