And his new manufacturer Toyota paced 138 of the 200 laps at Daytona -- but not the final one, which counted most. But being denied victory on the final lap was about the only thing that didn't go right for Gibbs and Toyota, an alliance showing early signs that it might challenge juggernaut Hendrick Motorsports at the top of the circuit.
Online dating site offers DNA matching
AN online dating website that compares the DNA of its customers promises a more satisfying sex life and healthier children for couples who are genetically matched. Scientific Match helps singles find their "genetic match" by analysing their DNA and recommending a partner who has different immune system genes than themselves for a subscription fee of $US1995 ($2323) per year. "Welcome to a new era of human relationships. We're the only introduction service that creates matches with actual physical chemistry," the website's homepage says. After signing up to the website, clients are sent a DNA collection kit containing cheek-swabs and a pre-paid return envelope. Their saliva samples are then processed and they are matched with other users whose genetic profiles are different to their own.

Teams Win Competition to Track Approaching Asteroid
Discovered in 2004, it is named after a spirit of destruction in Egyptian myth. In 2029, Apophis is expected to come within 30,000 kilometers of the earth, closer than the orbit of geostationary satellites. Depending on the asteroid's trajectory, there is a very small chance the earth's gravity could alter its course so it would strike the earth on a subsequent approach in 2036. The Planetary Society, an educational and advocacy group, solicited proposals for a hypothetical mission to assess the risk, and received 37 proposals from 20 countries. The winning entry, which earned a prize of $25,000, was a joint proposal from SpaceWorks Engineering of Atlanta, Georgia, and a California firm called SpaceDev. Their mission would place a small satellite in orbit around Apophis, which would follow the asteroid using a laser rangefinder and radio tracking from earth to determine its orbit.

Make the jokes -- bloggers are -- but the Sacramento Kings aren't laughing and are mostly mum on a public relations flap over some salacious photos posted online of its Royal Court dancers. In one photo, four women are seen bending over -- their backsides showing and leaving little to the imagination. Another shows two women posing suggestively as if about to kiss. At the least, the incident poses the question: What were they thinking? The photos appear to be old -- perhaps dating back at least two years -- but the perils of digital footprints provide a cautionary tale that what happens in Las Vegas -- or in this case, the locker room or private quarters -- doesn't always stay there.
Nikon announces its latest D-SLR camera called the D60
Nikon is one of the largest and most successful makers of digital cameras on the market and has made a full line of D-SLR and point-and-shoot digital cameras for years. Today Nikon announced the newest member if its D-SLR line called the Nikon D60. The camera will sit in the line between the D40x and the D80 in both price and features. While Nikon has declined to comment on pricing at the moment, we can get an idea of the price range the D60 will retail in be looking at the D40, D40x and D80. The Nikon D40 sells for $549.95 in kit form, the D40x sells for $699.95 in a kit and the D80 sells for $999.95 all with a kit 18-55mm lens. That would likely put the new D60 in the $800 price range. The New D60 has a 10.2 megapixel DX-format CCD sensor and exclusive EXPEED image processor.
